At Shamanic Healers Circle, we preserve and teach the ancient wisdom of shamanic healing through our accredited shamanic healer training in the UK. Our comprehensive energy healing programs award both a Certificate and a Diploma in Shamanic Healing, designed for those who seek deep spiritual connection, transformation, and healing.
Our in-person diploma training programme guides students on a sacred path of learning and personal growth. UK Healers accredit the programme, and it meets the standards of a recognised regulatory body. It remains the only shamanic healer training in the UK that qualifies graduates for registration with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) a trusted mark of professional integrity.
The diploma teachings follow a traditional shamanic approach and draw on the energy healing framework of the Four Directions. Across many wisdom traditions, the Four Directions represent balance, life cycles, and the interconnected aspects of healing, the foundation of authentic shamanic healing practice.

Diploma Shamanic Healer Training
Starts February – A One-Year Accredited Journey
This year-long, training begins each February and is designed for those called to walk the path of a professional Shamanic Healer. It combines 4 immersive in-person weekends with 5 comprehensive online teaching sessions, offering a rich blend of experiential learning and spiritual development.
Throughout the course, you will receive in-depth training in core healing practices such as:
- Understanding and navigating soul loss, including shadow work
- Soul retrieval
Psychopomp work (supporting the dying and guiding souls)
Remote healing techniques
Creating sacred tools and power items
Rituals and ceremony for healing
Self-care and energetic protection
This programme also prepares you to work professionally by covering:
Anatomy and physiology foundations
Case study work
Ethics, boundaries, and legal frameworks
Administrative and record-keeping practices
By the end of the course, you will:
Receive a Diploma in Shamanic Healing
Be recognised as a Shamanic Healer Practitioner
Have the tools and knowledge to offer professional healing services
Be eligible for registration with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)
Application Requirements
This diploma programme is open to those who meet one or more of the following criteria:
Hold SHC Certificate in Shamanic Healing
Have completed a recognised healer training (Reiki, Healing Trust etc.)
Have at least 3 years of professional experience as a Shamanic Healer
Applicants should be ready to engage fully in the training, with a commitment to both personal growth and service to others.
Weekend 1
1st weekend focus: East
- Soul retrieval – The East is associated with illumination, rebirth, and spiritual vision. Soul retrieval restores lost parts of the self, initiating a new beginning and a clearer spiritual path.
- Rituals and ceremony for healing – Ceremony opens sacred space and calls in Spirit, as the doorway to vision, prayer, and spiritual guidance.
- Additional Core Elements:
- Attunement practices (opening/closing sacred space, grounding, connecting to Spirit)
- Creating a safe healing environment (physical, emotional, energetic safety)
- Exploration of different models of healing and definitions of the healer’s role.
- Integration into contemporary healthcare context (how healing relates to conventional medicine, inter-referral).
Weekend 2
2nd weekend focus: South
- Understanding and navigating soul loss, including shadow work – The South relates to emotional experience, vulnerability, and the inner child. Shadow work is about facing wounds, fears, and past traumas that often stem from childhood and relationships.
- Creating sacred tools and power items – The South is also about creativity, play, and personal growth. Crafting sacred tools is a hands-on way to engage with Spirit through creativity and relationship.
- Additional Core Elements:
- Emotional intelligence and therapeutic presence
- Cultural sensitivity, inclusivity, and respect for client worldviews.
- Recognising contraindications and when to refer clients for additional support
Weekend 3
3rd weekend focus: West
- Psychopomp work (supporting the dying and guiding souls) – The West is the direction of endings, transitions, and the gateway to the ancestors. Guiding souls to the other side.
- Remote healing techniques – The West also holds the unseen realms, dreams, and the mysteries beyond ordinary reality. Distance or non-local healing aligns with this direction’s connection to the invisible.
- Additional Core Elements:
- Ethical considerations in end-of-life and distance work.
- Safety and risk awareness when working with altered states and the unseen.
- Reflection on dreams, intuition, and symbolic guidance in practice.
Weekend 4
4th weekend focus: North
- Self-care and energetic protection – The North holds wisdom, boundaries, and grounded clarity. Wisdom teachings emphasise balance and sustainability, which includes protecting and caring for one’s own energy.
- Additional Core Elements:
- Professional resilience: supervision, ongoing CPD (continuing professional development).
- Reflective practice and journaling.
- Integrating wisdom into community and practitioner roles.

Course Structure & Investment
This training unfolds through four in-person weekend gatherings, complemented by monthly online sessions for continued learning, integration, and case-study support.

Accommodation. There are various B&B’s, campsites (Dartington Hall) and Airbnb available in the area.
Cancellation Policy.
Cancellations made more than 14 days prior to the scheduled training will receive a refund to the original payment method, minus any applicable administrative or processing fees. Cancellations made within 14 days of the training date are non-refundable, as your place will have already been secured and resources allocated.

Tutors
Lorraine and Jim are both experienced Shamanic Healer Practitioners.
They each have over 20 years training with various teachers from around the world, and they both have their own healing practice.

Teachings
It has been around 2,000 to 3,000 years since people lived close to the land with an Earth honouring and animistic practice in the UK. We have effectively lost our own heritage and connection to the ancient ways of healing and living close to the land with the other than human peoples. We need to look to those places and cultures around the world that still practice these ways to learn and rekindle our own respectful and heartfelt connection to the land and healing. We acknowledge the harm that has been done and is still being done around the world to native peoples, whose teachings we humbly and respectfully base this training on. Furthermore, we include our own ancestral linages, who probably directly or indirectly were part of this harm.
We are grateful to have received permission to use the healing ceremonies outlined in this course and will always offer them in a sacred and respectful way. We also financially support individual Elders, and communities more generally through Survival International charity, as an act of reciprocity.

Training F.A.Q.
- We limit numbers to 12, to ensure everyone receives the best training possible.
We provide handouts for the Foundation course, distributed during the session, and a Student Handbook for the Professional course
The weekend training is delivered by Lorraine and Jim, who also provide online Zoom meeting between weekend trainings. Where possible, we have an assistant on the course who can help support individuals.
All of our courses are delivered by a team of highly qualified, experienced and specialist trainers. We also have course assistant/s who support the weekend trainings.
The Foundation course weekends are aimed at people interested in shamanic healing who may or may not have any experience. The format is experimental, giving you the opportunity to practice healing in a safe environment. The course assistant/s will also have experience of the training.
